Creating Navigation Using Menu Designer View Type

The Menu Designer view type allows the builder to use a graphical interface to determine the items to be displayed by the Menu Navigation, and how each item is to be displayed. This is the default selection.

When this view type is selected, the builder makes selections on later wizard pages to identify the sites and pages to be referenced by the Menu Navigation, as described later in this chapter. Menu items can be located in the current site, in another site identified by the builder, or identified in a central view.

A benefit to using this view type is that it is not tied to a list, so the Menu Navigation can be exported to another page or site and the builder does not have to worry about adding a list. It also allows the builder to create new pages on the fly and add them to the Menu Navigation.
