The CorasWorks Application Designer Solution’s Navigation and appearance is based on the jQuery User Interface (UI). jQuery UI is a curated set of user interface interactions, effects, widgets, and themes built on top of the jQuery JavaScript Library. jQuery UI is free, open source software.
It is possible to make changes to the UI through editing of files and there has been a tool created by the open source community to expedite the creation and modification of the jQuery UI. ThemeRoller (http://jqueryui.com/themeroller/) allows the design of custom jQuery UI themes. Using ThemeRoller, the UI components will update, reflecting the changes to the design, and the theme can be downloaded when completed.
The steps below provide an overview on how to use ThemeRoller to create a theme, then apply that theme to the CorasWorks Solutions Template. SharePoint Designer is required for bulk copying of folders and files.
NOTES |
When creating jQuery UI themes, files will be updated on the web front end servers. All web front end servers will need to have the theme files placed on them. The steps that follow will need to be repeated when the Application Designer build changes. For example, the current build is 1.8.10. If the build is updated in a later release, the theme information will need to be copied into the new build folder. The steps assume the location of the web server extensions are in the default location on the web front end server. If the location of the common files within the environment are not in the default location, adjust the directory structure accordingly. The following steps apply to SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013 environments. |
