Timer Activation Wizard

Overview

The Timer Activation Wizard is used to identify and activate actions that are automatically executed at a certain time. The wizard is used to identify the actions that are to be referenced and the schedule and time(s) at which they are to be run. All of the timer activations are stored in a list called “CorasWorks Timer Calendar” at the top of the site collection.

Almost any type of action can be executed, as long as the action definition does not require a user to provide information when the action is run. The one action type that is not currently supported is Chained Actions. A filter can be defined so the actions are only executed when certain criteria are met. For example, you could use the Timer Activation Wizard to automatically publish completed tasks to an archive and then delete them from their original location. This could be done every Friday night at midnight, or at whatever time and frequency works for your organization.
