1. Access the Actions Wizard via the CorasWorks Application Wizards section of the Site Settings page. An Action Selection page is displayed.
2. Use the first few properties at the top of the page to identify the location of the action library where the new action definition is to be saved. Global Links are supported.
• If there is a library called “Actions Library” in the current site, that library will be selected by default and any available actions in the library are shown in the table on the lower portion of the page.
• If there is not an available library, one can be created. Click on the Create Actions Library link to have a new library created.
3. Click the Create a new action link. An Action Details page is displayed.
4. Select the type of action to be created from the Action Type drop-down. In this case, you will want to select View Item.
5. Type the name of the action definition to be created in the Action Name field.
• Please avoid using special characters such as "@" and"." as these characters will be removed from the action name to prevent any potential issues.
6. If you wish, you can type a description of the new action in the Description field. Depending on options selected by the builder in the components where the action is referenced, this description may be seen by the end user when they hover over the action name and may be helpful in identifying the action.
7. The Category field is optional. It is available to help you organize action definitions, but it is not seen by builders or users of data and navigation displays. The category identified here is shown in the Category column in the table on the Action Library Selection page.
8. If you wish, you can type the URL of an image to be saved with the action definition in the Image URL field. Depending on options selected by the builder in the components where the action is referenced, this image may be displayed to the end user to the left of the action name in the Grid Display, Calendar Display, or Action Launcher.
9. When you are ready to proceed to the next page, click the Next button. The Model List/Library Selection page is displayed.
