Several properties are “carried over” from the source views that you identified for the Parent-Child view, so you will not see the corresponding categories in the navigation area on the left side of the Display Wizard. The properties that are carried over include:
• Columns
• Sites
• Lists
• Filters
• Sort
• Column Totals
• Conditional Formatting
Grouping and Searching are not supported in Parent-Child views. However, several other types of properties are defined at the Parent-Child level, including:
• Action Selection
• Action Availability
• Item Display Settings
o This is the same page used for Standard views, with a few exceptions:
§ Additional property: Show view names
§ Removed properties: Show item type icon, Show edit item icon, Show view item icon
• Colors, Fonts, and Borders
• Toolbar Settings
• Context Menu Settings
Most of the view properties are set in the same way as they are for a Standard view. The exception to this is actions. When you create a Parent-Child view, all of the actions that are available in the source views are available on the Actions Selection page for the Parent-Child view. The builder chooses which of these actions to make available to the end user.
When you access the Action Selection page for a Parent-Child view, it will look just like the Action Selection page for a Standard view, except the actions from the source views are all automatically listed in the Available Actions area. Highlight the actions you want to make available to the end user and click on the right arrow button, as you would for a Standard view.
