Any aspect of an existing action definition can be modified except the action type. When the modifications are saved, any displays that reference the edited action are automatically updated.
1. Access the Actions Wizard via the CorasWorks Application Wizards section of the Site Settings page. The Action Selection page is displayed.
2. Use the first few properties at the top of the page to identify the location of the action library where the action to be edited is located. Global Links are supported here, and throughout the Actions Wizard.
• If there is a library called “Actions Library” in the current site, that library will be selected by default all any available actions in the library are shown in the table on the lower portion of the page.
3. Locate the action to be edited in the table of available actions and select the Edit icon to the right. The Action Details page is displayed for the selected action, with all available details populated.
4. Make the necessary changes on this page. Any aspect of the action definition can be modified except the action type.
• If you change the action name, the old action name will remain on the Actions drop-down presented to the user on all displays that reference that action. If a user attempts to execute the action, this message will be displayed:
The action definition file has been
moved or deleted. The action can be
removed from the display via the Display
Wizard’s Action Selection page.
When the builder accesses the Action Selection page, the renamed action is shown in the Available Actions area. The builder can either save the view without the action or move the renamed action to the Selected Actions area and then save the view.
5. If you need to make changes on other pages of the Actions Wizard, click the Next button and modify the properties on any of the remaining wizard pages.
6. When you are finished, click the Finish button from any wizard page. The changes are saved and you are returned to the Action Selection page. All displays that reference the edited action are automatically updated.
