The Context Menu Settings page is used to identify the options that are presented to the user on the menu that is accessed when the user clicks the secondary mouse button anywhere within a Grid or Calendar Display. Chart Displays do not offer a context menu.
NOTE: The context menu option to add a new item is not available for document libraries. In addition, some of the options on these context menus are SharePoint standards; they are not affected by properties on the Display Wizard.
§ Add item: Enabled by default. This option allows user to add a new entry into the list shown within the component. The New Item window that appears is generic in nature and includes all user-accessible columns for the list. To control the columns the user sees, disable this option and add a custom Create Item action.
§ Edit item: Enabled by default. This option allows the user to edit the item that has been right-clicked upon within the component. The Edit Item window that appears is generic in nature and includes all user-accessible columns for the list. To control the columns the user sees, disable this option and add a custom Edit Item action.
§ View item: Enabled by default. This option allows the user to view the details for the item that has been right-clicked upon within the component. The View Item window that appears is generic in nature and includes all user-accessible columns for the list. § Open document for document library
items: Disabled by default. Enable this option so that users who click
on a hyperlink for an item in a library are taken directly to the document
instead of seeing the document’s properties page.
This option
requires the enabling of the Use this column to link to items within the
Quick Configure -> Columns page.
Note that this option
does not allow for linking to attachments within lists.
§ Enable Version Support: Disabled by default. When enabled, the option will present additional options in the Context Menu when versioning is enabled for a Document Library. Includes options for Checking In/Out and seeing earlier versions of documents. This option is meant for libraries only.
§ Filter columns: Disabled by default. When enabled, the user can right-click within a column and create a filter. The result is similar to right-clicking on the column heading to enable a filter.
§ Allow end-user to hide columns through the column header context menu: When this checkbox is selected, the end user is allowed to hide a column via the context menu option. Any “hiding” is only applied to the current browser session. If the user leaves the Grid Display or if another user accesses the Grid Display, the columns are returned to their original state.
