Before you begin creating action definitions, one or two lists and libraries need to be created:
• Action definitions are stored and managed in an actions library. You can
create an actions library using the CorasWorks Actions Library list template
(included in the zip file with the rest of v11, in the “Lists and Libraries”
folder).
In addition, the Actions Wizard supports the creation of
Actions Library through the Wizard’s home page. If a library does not
exist within the current site, one can be created without using a list
template.
• When Create List Item actions are executed, they write to a list that is identified in the action definition. You will want to create that destination list before you define the action. The action definition will determine how each column in the new list item will be populated.
• For Create List Item actions and several other action types, you need to keep in mind that the columns referenced by the action definition must exist in both the source list referenced by the Grid or Calendar Display and the destination list, and must utilize the same column names. If they do not, the action will fail when it is executed.
