To access the Throttling feature:
1. Access the web front end server where you want to enable throttling and select Start/All Programs/ Microsoft Office Server.
2. Open the SharePoint Central Administration tool and click on the Application Management tab.
• Server Admin rights are required to use this tool
3. Select the Throttling link under CorasWorks Central Configuration. Another page is displayed, with a listing of all available web applications on the server.
4. Click on the Edit icon to the right of the web application where you want to enable throttling. The Throttling Settings page is displayed. There are three properties on this page:
• Maximum Number of Items Returned – The maximum number of items that can be returned by any CorasWorks Display in the selected web application. This affects the following displays:
• Grid, Calendar, and Chart Displays
• Maximum Number of Lists Traversed – The maximum number of lists that can be referenced by any CorasWorks Display in the selected web application. This affects the following displays:
• Grid, Calendar, and Chart Displays
• Menu Navigation
• Maximum Number of Sites Traversed – The maximum number of sites that can be referenced by any CorasWorks Display in the selected web application. This affects the following displays
• Grid, Calendar, and Chart Displays
• Menu Navigation
• Tree View
• Up to Navigation
5. Set these three properties to the desired values and then click the Finish button to apply them.
If a CorasWorks Data or Navigation Display is configured so any of these settings are exceeded, the Display will be shut down and an error message like this one will be shown to the end user when they access the page that contains the Display:
