Edit a Central View

Once a central view has been created, it can be edited as necessary. All locations that reference the central view will be automatically updated when the edits are saved via the Central Views Wizard.

To edit a central view:

1.  Access the Central Views Wizard and specify the location of the central view to be edited. When you select the location from the List or library drop-down, all existing central views in that library are displayed in an Available Views table.

2.  Locate the central view that you want to edit and click on the Edit icon to the right. The Edit Central View page is displayed, populated with all available information about the selected view.

3.  Make any necessary changes on the Edit Central View page.

Note that the Display Type cannot be edited once the central view has been created.

If you change the View Name, keep in mind that this will break the connection with any displays that already reference this central view. If the view name is edited, the display will not be able to find the central view definition; the builder will need to go back to each of the displays that reference the central view and add the view to the display again.

4.  Click on the Next button. The Display Wizard for the appropriate type of view is displayed. Make any necessary changes on any wizard pages.

5.  When you have finished, click the Finish button. The edits are saved and you are returned to the Central View Wizard’s landing page.
