The Display Settings page is used to select the options to include in the Tree View Display. Each of the checkbox properties on this page are described below.
NOTE: In addition to these properties, you can provide your users with an easy way to confirm that they have selected the desired site. When the end user hovers over a site in the Tree View, the site description is provided in a pop-up tooltip if a description is available. You may want to verify that each of the sites shown by a Tree View has a description associated with it.
Select this checkbox if you want to turn off Load on Demand. When Load on Demand is enabled, the information shown by the Tree View is loaded only when the end user clicks to expand a particular node. This can help improve performance.
This option is only available when Disable Load on Demand is selected above. When this checkbox is selected, each site with folders or sub-sites to which the current user has access is shown in an expanded form. When it is not selected, the sites are contracted.
This option is only available when Disable Load on Demand is selected above. When enabled, this highlights the entire path to the current site in bold text. So if the Tree View is expanded to show an entire tree of sites, each site that leads to the current location will be highlighted.
When this property is selected, the Self Management folder is included in the display and the end user can manage their alerts and their personal settings, such as email address and name.
When this property is selected, the Administration folder is included in the display and the end user is provided with easy access to the CorasWorks builder wizards, security administration, and site settings, if they have the proper authority. Any users who do not have the necessary authority will not see these options.
When this property is selected, the Lists folder is shown for each site returned by the Tree View and the end user can see all of the lists in the selected site to which they have access. If the user does not have access to see a list, the list name will not be shown. If the end user is an administrator, a “Create List” option is also displayed.
This option is only available when Show Lists folder is selected above. When this checkbox is selected, the Tree View will include hidden lists in the Lists folder for each site returned by the display.
This option is only available when Show Lists folder is selected above. Select this checkbox to have the Lists display include the number of items in each list, shown in bold after the list name.
This option is only available when Show Lists folder is selected above. When this option is selected, only the lists that are configured to be shown in the Quick Launch will be shown in the Lists folder. Enabling this option can introduce a minor performance penalty.
When this checkbox is selected, the Tree View display includes an sub-sites available below the URL defined on the Sites page.
Select this checkbox to have the Tree View ignore the hostname identified on the Display Wizard’s Sites page. This is useful if you expect that you will move from one hostname to another in the future.
For example, if the URL on the Sites page is identified as http://www.hostname.com/site1 and you select this checkbox, the "http://www.hostname.com" portion will be replaced with the current hostname.
Select this checkbox to enable the use of a context menu, accessed by clicking on the right mouse button. The specific options on the context menu vary depending on the area from which it is called, but they can include Open, Open in New Window, List Settings, and/or Site Settings.
When this checkbox is selected, the Tree View background color will match the Quick Launch background color. When this checkbox is not selected, the Tree View background is transparent so it matches whatever color it is placed on top of.
This property is used to specify whether or not the text shown throughout the Tree View should automatically wrap to fit the available space in the web part zone. Useful when there are long site titles.
