Delete An Action Definition

The Actions Wizard includes a page that can be used to delete one or more action definitions at a time. When an action definition is deleted, it is not automatically removed from any displays that reference it. The builder must access the Actions Selections page in the Display Wizard for each display that references a deleted action before it is removed from the set of available actions presented to the user.

To delete an action definition:

1.  Access the Actions Wizard via the CorasWorks Application Wizards section of the Site Settings page. The Action Selection page is displayed.
Title: Actions Wizard Actions Selections Page - Description: Actions Wizard Actions Selections Page

2.  Use the first few properties on the left side of the page to identify the location of the action library where the action to be deleted is located. Global Links are supported here, and throughout the Actions Wizard.

If there is a library called “Actions Library” in the current site, that library will be selected by default and all available actions in the library are shown in the table on the lower portion of the page.

3.  Locate the action to be deleted in the table of available actions and select its Delete icon to the right (Title: Delete Icon - Description: Delete Icon). The Action will be stored in the Wizard’s Deleted Actions trash can (Title: Trash Can Icon - Description: Trash Can Icon) until the completion of the current Actions Wizard session or until the user accesses the trashcan section to restore the Action.  Once the session is ended, any Actions in the trash can will automatically be removed from its Action Library.

When an action is deleted, it will remain on the Actions drop-down presented to the user on all displays that reference that action (Grid, Calendar, Actions Launcher). If a user attempts to execute the action, this message will be displayed:

The action definition file has been moved or deleted. The action can be
removed from the display via the Display Wizard’s Action Selection page.

When the builder accesses the Action Selection page, the deleted action will need to be removed from the Selected Actions area. The builder must save the view to remove the action from the Actions drop-down.
