CorasWorks List Activation Wizard

Introduction to the List Activation Wizard

The List Activation Wizard is used to manage and activate actions that are automatically executed when triggered by a list event. A list event occurs when a user either adds or modifies an item in a particular list or library.

Almost any type of action can be executed, as long as the action definition does not require a user to provide information when the action is run. The one action type that is not currently supported is Chained Actions. The List Activation Wizard allows you to define a filter, so the actions are only executed when certain criteria are met.

For example, you could use this wizard to automatically send an email to a project manager whenever the status on a Task item within the project site is changed to “Complete.”

In order for an individual to have access to the List Activation Wizard, they must have at least the following minimum site permissions:

      Manage Permissions

      Create Subsites

      Manage Web Site

NOTE

List Activations are not natively portable.  Activations created in one web application will not work in another.  However, the CorasWorks Support team has a tool that can be used to update the Activation(s) to the new location.  Please reach out to Support (Support@CorasWorks.net) for more information.
