Copy An Action Definition

The Actions Wizard provides a simple method to create a new action definition based upon a copy of an existing action definition.

To copy an action definition:

1.  Access the Actions Wizard via the CorasWorks Application Wizards section of the Site Settings page. The Action Selection page is displayed.
Title: Actions Wizard Actions Selections Page - Description: Actions Wizard Actions Selections Page

2.  Use the first few properties at the left side of the page to identify the location of the action library where the action to be copied is located. Global Links are supported here, and throughout the Actions Wizard.

      If there is a library called “Actions Library” in the current site, that library will be selected by default and all available actions in the library are shown in the table on the lower portion of the page.

3.  Locate the action to be copied in the table of available actions and select its Copy icon to the right (Title: Copy Icon - Description: Copy Icon).  A new Actions is created, with the following details:

      The action name is set to “Copy of (original action name)”;

      All of the properties are the same as the original and can be edited.

4.  Select the new action’s Quick Edit icon (Title: Quick Edit Icon - Description: Quick Edit Icon) to change the action’s title, description, category, and/or icon.

5.  Click on the action’s Save icon (Title: Save Icon - Description: Save Icon) to save the changes made via the Quick Edit fields.

6.  All of the properties that were defined for the original action are pre-populated for the copied action.  To edit those options, click on the action’s Edit icon (Title: Edit Icon - Description: Edit Icon). Make all necessary changes on the appropriate pages and click on the Apply icon (Title: Apply Icon - Description: Apply Icon) at the top of the page to save them and to return to the Actions Wizard main page.
