An Overview of Central Views
The Central Views Wizard is used to create and maintain CorasWorks views that can be shared by multiple data displays or navigation displays throughout your environment. Central views are saved in a library that you identify, and then made available for use via the Display Wizard of the component(s) where you want to use them. Standard views, on the other hand, are saved with the single instance of the display component in which they are created.
Central views can be created for any type of data display and any type of navigation display. However, they can only be created for the default type of view for each type of display. For example, a Standard Grid Display central view can be created, but Toolset central views and Parent-Child central views for a Grid Display cannot.
The Central Views Wizard works in a very similar manner to the Display Wizard, except the resulting views can be referenced by multiple displays. The only difference with the Central Views Wizard is the first page or two, where you identify the maintenance function you want to perform and which central view you want to work with. If you choose to create a new central view, a second page is used to identify the name and type of view to be created.
