Summary: Build a Site Collection without a template; load the site template into the Solution Gallery and apply it.
Directions: A feature of SharePoint is the ability to build a Site Collection without choosing a site template, applying the template after the Site Collection is built.
1. Build the Site Collection through SharePoint. However, in the Template Selection section, switch to the Custom tab and choose the < Select template later…> option.
2. Once the site is built, apply security as normal.
3. In the resulting Template Selection page, click on the link titled Solution Gallery. The browser will load the site template Solution Gallery for the Site Collection.
4. Upload the solution into the Site Collection’s Solution Gallery.
5. Activate the solution.
6. Return to the main page of the site.
7. In the Template Selection page, click on the CorasWorks tab and select your uploaded solution.
8. Click the OK button to apply the site template to the Site Collection.
